Professional Case Consultation
Bring the case. Get clarity. Move forward. A structured, one-to-one consultation service for practising psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and mental health practitioners.
“The purpose is not simply to discuss the case. It is to help you leave with greater clarity about what to consider next.”
Bring the questions that are slowing the case down.
Even experienced practitioners can encounter cases where progress slows, assessment feels incomplete, conceptualisation remains unclear, or the next therapeutic step is difficult to determine.
A structured process, from case submission to next steps.
Your fully de-identified case is submitted in advance so consultation time can focus on analysis, professional reflection and practical planning.
Select your plan.
Choose a single case consultation or a monthly professional consultation plan.
Single Case Consultation is intended for focused input on one specific case. The Monthly Professional Consultation Plan is designed for practitioners who regularly want structured input across multiple cases.
Submit your case.
Receive the IICAP Case Submission Form after booking and submit your case 24–48 hours before the consultation.
The form covers de-identified background, presenting concerns, assessment information, sessions completed, approaches used, progress, goals, bottlenecks and questions.
Case review.
The submitted case is reviewed through a structured clinical reasoning pathway before the session.
Presenting Concerns → Assessment → Case Conceptualisation → Maintaining Factors → Therapeutic Goals → Intervention Priorities → Session Planning.
One-to-one consultation.
A 45–60 minute professional discussion focused on one primary case.
Case conceptualisation, assessment gaps, maintaining factors, goals, therapeutic approach, evidence-informed interventions, process challenges, upcoming sessions and possible referral or escalation.
What you can take away.
Depending on the case, consultation can help clarify the following areas.
Case understanding
A more structured understanding of presenting concerns, relevant factors and possible maintaining processes.
Therapeutic direction
Clearer therapeutic priorities and realistic goals for the next phase of work.
Intervention options
Potential evidence-informed approaches, techniques and strategies relevant to the case.
Session planning
A practical direction for upcoming sessions and therapeutic work.
Professional reflection
An opportunity to examine assumptions, identify blind spots and consider alternative perspectives.
