Course overview
This 20+ hour course provides an understanding of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Forgiveness Therapy as powerful approaches for emotional healing and psychological flexibility. Participants explore ACT principles including acceptance, cognitive defusion, mindfulness, values clarification, self-as-context and committed action, and the course also covers forgiveness processes, releasing emotional pain, self-forgiveness, compassion and meaning-making. Through practical exercises, worksheets, case discussions and therapeutic activities, participants learn how to support clients in developing resilience, emotional freedom and value-based living.
Delivered as 20+ hours of live, interactive online training, the course combines lectures with hands-on live practice in real time, in small groups in breakout rooms, plus role plays, worksheets, therapeutic tools and case-study discussions. On successful completion you receive a certificate, having developed the confidence to apply these approaches in counselling, educational, organisational and community settings.
