Course overview
This course provides a practical introduction to the principles, concepts and applications of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), one of the most widely used evidence-based approaches in psychotherapy. It explores the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and covers core CBT concepts, cognitive distortions, thought monitoring, cognitive restructuring, behavioural techniques and basic CBT intervention skills. Through examples, case discussions and practical exercises, participants learn to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and apply CBT tools effectively in counselling and therapeutic settings.
This beginner-level course is delivered fully online and self-paced, with around four hours of pre-recorded expert content, practical worksheets, therapeutic tools and case-study discussions. On successful completion you receive a certificate, having built practical, application-ready skills for counselling, educational, personal-development and professional settings.
