Course overview
This 20+ hour course introduces Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), developed by Albert Ellis, focusing on understanding and transforming emotional disturbances caused by irrational beliefs. The course explores the ABC model, irrational and rational beliefs, cognitive disputation, emotional regulation, self-acceptance and behavioural change strategies, and participants learn practical REBT techniques to help individuals challenge unhealthy beliefs and develop balanced perspectives. Through case discussions, worksheets, activities and practical applications, learners gain skills to integrate REBT principles into counselling sessions and personal development work.
Delivered as 20+ hours of live, interactive online training, the course combines lectures with hands-on live practice in real time, in small groups in breakout rooms, plus role plays, worksheets, therapeutic tools and case-study discussions. On successful completion you receive a certificate, having developed the confidence to apply these approaches in counselling, educational, organisational and community settings.
